Marty Supreme, A24’s table tennis drama starring Timothée Chalamet, received nine nominations for the 2026 Academy Awards on Thursday.
The film was one of eight nominees for Best Picture, and Josh Safdie earned a nomination for Best Director. Safdie also received nominations for Best Original Screenplay and Best Film Editing.
Marty Supreme is Safdie’s first feature film as a solo director, which earned him the first four Academy Award nominations of his career. Safdie shares nominations with Ronald Bronstein for Best Original Screenplay and Best Film Design.
Chalamet, who stars as the titular protagonist Marty Mauser in the film, earned his second consecutive nomination for Best Actor. Since the film's release, Chalamet has received a Critics’ Choice Award and a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Mauser.
The film also received nominations for Best Casting (Jennifer Venditti), Best Cinematography (Darius Khondji), Best Costume Design (Miyako Bellizzi) and Best Production Design (Jack Fisk, Adam Willis).

The film stars Chalamet, now a three-time Best Actor nominee, alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, Kevin O’Leary, and Tyler, the Creator, among others.
The 2026 Academy Awards will be held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on March 15 at 7 p.m. EST.
