The Los Angeles Spinners are adding Andrew Cao back to their roster for the 2025-26 Major League Table Tennis (MLTT) season, league sources confirm to Table Tennis TV.

Cao assumes a roster spot vacated by 2025 second-round draft pick Choi Hyo-joo, whom the Spinners dropped due to complications regarding her visa.

Cao played for the Spinners during the 2024-25 season, who finished fourth in the Western Division with a 4-14 record (139 points) that year. He became a free agent following that season after the Spinners declined to retain him.

The 17-year-old from Katy, Texas is widely viewed as one of the top juniors in table tennis, as he boasts an impressive SPINDEX rating of 2571. He won the 2024 U.S. Nationals Mixed Doubles championship alongside Texas Smash star Amy Wang, and his team won the bronze medal at the ITTF Pan-American Youth Championships that same year.

Cao will return to a Spinners roster that looks very different from the franchise he played for last year. The Spinners relocated from Seattle to Los Angeles shortly after their season ended, and they hired former Gold Rush star and Season 2 MLTT champion Romain Lorentz as their next coach. These decisions kicked off an offseason of drastic change for the Spinners, who parted ways with Debora Vivarelli, Olajide Omotayo, Thiago Farias Monte Monteiro and Senura Silva.

The Spinners made one of the biggest splashes of the offseason, prying superstar Matilda Ekholm from the Florida Crocs. They used the fifth-overall selection in the 2025 MLTT Draft on Alexandre Robinot, and in later rounds they chose Choi, Marcos Madrid Mantilla and Amirreza Abbasi. They join a Spinners team that will return Cao, Kou Lei, Aditya Sareen and 2024 third-overall pick Ľubomír Pištej.

Cao and the Spinners will make their Season 3 debut against the Portland Paddlers on Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m., which will be streamed on Table Tennis TV.
