Leo de Nodrest will leave TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt at the end of the 2025-26 Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL) season, the club announced in a press release on Tuesday.
De Nodrest signed a two-year contract with Bergneustadt in April 2025 after transferring from ASC Grunwettersbach. The 25-year-old will reportedly continue his career in France and will leave Bergneustadt after spending just one season with the club.
“We very much regret Leo’s departure, because he suited us perfectly both athletically and humanly,” the club said, per the release. “Despite the short time, Leo has left a clear footprint and we thank him for his commitment and efforts this season.”
De Nodrest is TTBL’s No. 42 player at the time of this article’s publication. He has a 7:8 individual record with wins over Borussia Düsseldorf’s Kanak Jha (No. 7), Post SV Mühlhausen's Ovidiu Ionescu (No. 58) and TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen’s Andreas Levenko (No. 58).
De Nodrest will become Bergneustadt’s first current player to depart from the club ahead of the 2026-27 season. The club has worked toward extending the contracts of its pivotal players in recent months, which has led to two-year extensions for both Benedikt Duda (Bundesliga No. 1) and Romain Ruiz (No. 9).
Those three players, alongside Adrien Rassenfosse (No. 69), have given Bergneustadt a 14-6 record with a point differential of 28:12 this season. Bergneustadt ranks as the Bundesliga’s No. 3 seed, one spot ahead of a Saarbrücken team led by Fan Zhendong (No. 3), Darko Jorgic (No. 5) and Patrick Franziska (No. 17).
Bergneustadt is in the midst of an eight-match winning streak that dates back to Jan. 18. The club hopes to add a ninth match against ASC Grünwettersbach on April 16 at 1 p.m. EDT.
